Hi everyone! In this post, I’m going to provide a Nikkaflora 2025 update featuring me and my life, along with what’s new for the blog.

Aside from that, I hope you all are doing well. It’s summertime while I’m writing this, so it’s been hot as heck. But you know what, we are here on this Earth. We are thriving and enjoying the beauty of life. Or at least that is how I feel.

So this blog post is different from my usual content. I do have posts and videos that are currently in the works, which I am super excited to share with you all. However, for my first blog post of 2025, I decided to write about what’s new with the Nikkaflora Blog and the Nikkaflora Channel. I thought it would be a refreshing change of scenery rather than jumping straight into familiar topics.

The newest Nikkaflora Channel video will debut on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The last video I posted online was last year. A couple of blog posts I published are more recent. As for why I was gone for a long time, honestly my personal life really kept me occupied. I wanted to post content, and I have a lot of ideas I need to implement. However, I will admit that I struggled with consistency.

What’s weird is that I am actually consistent in many aspects of my life. This includes being there for my loved ones, making sure my finances are intact, cleaning my home, and investing in my studies. I suppose those are the minimal things I have to do in order to blossom in my daily life. I am really hard on myself every time I don’t post for a while.

Do I have to blog? No. Do I want to blog? Yes.

When it comes to achieving long-term goals or anything great in life, the two things required for success are consistency and discipline. You can have all the motivation you want, but it wanes after a while. Once this happens, it is up to you if you take action and finish whatever you started. I know this from personal experience.

Years ago, I wrote and published a book called A Right Love from a Wrong Wish on Wattpad. I love Dragon Ball Z, so my younger self decided to write an adventure story about Prince Vegeta and Bulma Briefs falling in love. It is one of the greatest accomplishments of my life so far. Not just anyone can say that they published a book.

When I first began working on that story, I thought it’d be cool to write about the ideas dancing around in my mind. After I’ve written some chapters, the process became tremendously difficult. I remember that writing the entire book felt monotonous despite my love for it.

My eyes rolled to the back of my head in discomfort as soon as I realized the plot needed to be more organized. I looked up photos to use as cover art for each chapter. I conducted research on how to communicate certain parts more effectively. For each piece of text, I had to reread each part multiple times so that I could make edits accordingly.

Those steps I’ve taken are all part of the storytelling process. I’m sure every writer and author has their own unique routine for their works. I mention these things because while it is easy to start a project, it is much harder to see it to completion. Especially if the project takes months or years to finish.

I wasn’t always able to publish a chapter in the timely manner I intended. But I completed the book because I persisted for years. It took me 3 years to finalize A Right Love from a Wrong Wish. At that time, I was also focusing on my school studies and had different priorities. However, I persisted enough for me to finish that book.

This is where discipline comes in, and it is something I always try to improve on. Discipline is one of the most important qualities anyone can cultivate.

If you really want to do something, you will show up everyday and just do it. No matter what happens in life. Rain, sun, shine, fire, or whatever can’t ever stop you if it’s that important to you, and you continue to persist.

For each long-term goal I have, I do my best to show up everyday or at least every week. Breaking the goal down into small, feasible tasks increases your chances of success.

One long-term goal I personally have is learning how to figure skate. I come to the lessons every week unless the coach says they’re cancelled for whatever reason. Before I properly learned how to skate, I only knew how to skate on one leg because I had a pair of heelys as a kid.

Heelys are shoes that have wheels in them. They’re pretty sick honestly. I used to skate in the halls of my school, which is something kids aren’t allowed to do. Then the teachers would be upset and start chasing me in the halls lol.

Anyways, after I attended some of the sessions, I can now speed skate around the rink. But there is still a lot more I have to learn. Right now, I’m practicing how to skate backwards and I’m only improving from there.

In this photo, this is a youtube thumbnail of Nikkaflora’s first video which is called “Introducing Nikkaflora.” Nicole from Nikkaflora is smiling widely at the camera while showing off two peace signs with her hands. She is wearing natural-toned eye makeup on her face, along with sporting an orange, blue, and light pink jacket. The words Introducing Nikkaflora are written in a bold font on top of a dark brown rectangle. Image by © Nikkaflora.

Another thing I’ve thought of lately is the direction of the Nikkaflora blog and channel. In my introduction video, which is my very first video I posted like 5 years ago, I said that I was going to post articles and videos about storytelling, creativity projects, original short stories, and personal growth articles.

A few of my past videos include:

I even read aloud original short stories I’ve written myself. I will continue to make videos and posts about these topics, simply because I love writing stories and I want to help people grow.

I’ve been writing stories since I was in third grade. In school, my teacher at that time gave our class a writing assignment. She assigned us to write a short story. Unfortunately I don’t have that original story anymore because I turned it in years ago. But I just wrote about a girl named Violet who teams up with the ice princess. They go on a grand adventure and work together to save the world.

Maybe one of these days, I’ll rewrite that story because I really loved it. I don’t blame my teacher for keeping it. Hey, that could be my next short story lol.

Aside from making stories, I do have other passions. My other interest is actually art. I’d go as far to say that art is my first love. When I was in second grade, I had an art teacher who inspired me to want to become a master artist. It’s something I’m working on to this very day.

You know what’s funny, earlier I talked about how it was difficult for me to be consistent with the blog and channel. Yet throughout my life, I continuously practiced art regardless of what was going on in the world.

In high school, I signed up for multiple art classes. I took Ceramics, Sculpture, and drawing classes. And I was also in the art club for all 4 years. That’s because I wanted to always do art, and it’s something I strive to improve on.

This image contains two colored pencil drawings made by Nicole from Nikkaflora. On the left side, there is a portrait of Sebastian from Stardew Valley. Sebastian has purple hair with overgrown bangs hanging on the right side of his face. On the right side, there is a portrait of Haley from Stardew Valley. She has golden hair cascading in waves, along with wearing a blue sleeveless top and a blue necklace. There are also three blue-purple hearts trailing down the middle of the image. I’ll also post a couple of artwork I’ve done recently. In this photo, I drew Sebastian and Haley from Stardew Valley by using colored pencils. Yes I play Stardew Valley, and it’s one of my favorite video games. ConcernedApe, the creator of Stardew Valley, did an excellent job with the storytelling and choices a player can make in the game. You play as a farmer who grows crops, takes care of animals, and you can romance any of the 12 marriage candidates.

Speaking of romance, what’s funny is the character I chose for my spouse is actually Shane. I was going to woo Sebastian initially because he’s a cute, emo guy. Then I accidentally romanced Shane.

Shane is this grumpy guy who works at Joja Mart, the game’s corporate supermarket. When he isn’t working the job he hates, you can find him drinking at the pub called Stardrop Saloon. Shane was kind of a pain to talk to because he’s rude to you at first.

I invested in his storyline because it’s very depressing. Shane struggles with alcoholism, and he feels like he has no purpose in life. There are aspects of that character whom I can personally empathize with. It was unexpected, but I ended up liking Shane. He isn’t perfect, and he becomes a better person throughout his storyline.

I’ll probably draw more Stardew Valley characters later this year, but I sketched out Sebastian and Haley while I was chilling at a cafe.

This photo has two drawings of the same original character. The female character has blue and pink wavy hair, along with pink eyes and orange-peachy skin. On the right side, the character is wearing a Japanese-style schoolgirl outfit and she is learning toward the right. On the left side, the character has her right hand underneath her chin and is staring dreamily off into the distance. Image by © Nikkaflora.

In this photo, I drew an original character. She doesn’t have a name or anything. I drew her for fun. I like these drawings because I used alcohol markers to color them. My friends said she gives off My Little Pony and Sailor Moon vibes.

So yeah, it’s pretty obvious I love writing stories and creating art. I have been thinking of making art videos for this channel, but nothing has really come to mind yet.

Honestly I just don’t want to do drawing tutorials. At least not on youtube. I’ve seen people stream drawing tutorials. They don’t really interest me enough for me to want to film them as long videos. Maybe I’ll change my mind in the future, but I doubt it.

I can do shorter content for art. In fact, I have an art page on Instagram called Nikkaflora Studio. I post art pieces and short art videos on that platform. I’d love it if you can check it out and follow me there. My past artwork was mainly animal portraits, but I am going to post different types of art later this year. I’m both a traditional and digital artist.

In regards to creative writing and storytelling, I came up with new ideas for those topics. I will write new short stories in the future. And I don’t mind posting more book recommendations. People have commented that I should make more book recommendations for future blog posts and videos.

I am trying to read more books in my free time. Right now, I am reading A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna. I’ll post a photo of what the book looks like on social media. I can’t really describe what it’s about because I don’t want to spoil anything. What I will say is that it is well-written, and it has maintained my interest so far.

This image contains both of the official cover art for Volumes 1 and 2 of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess manga. For volume 1, Link is dressed up in Ordon Village clothing and staring intensely at the reader. There is a large wolf with symbols on its forehead behind Link. For volume 2, Link is dressed up in his traditional green knight armor while wielding a sword and shield. Cover art of the manga by Akira Himekawa.

Aside from reading novels, I’ve been reading The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess manga. I didn’t know there were manga comics for Twilight Princess until I saw them sitting at a library. I’m a huge Legend of Zelda fan, so I’ll naturally love the series. In the past, I’ve read their Phantom Hourglass manga, as well as a little bit of Skyward Sword.

If you like The Legend of Zelda or if you are looking for new comics to read, I highly recommend the Twilight Princess series. Twilight Princess is also one of the most beloved Zelda games of all time.

In the series, a young swordsman named Link teams up with Midna and they go on a grand adventure together. Link is also given the power to transform into a wolf whenever he arrives in a Twilight area. The game is very fun because you can alternate between playing Link as a human and as a wolf. I am currently reading the entire series.

In this photo, May (Haruka) and Steven Stone (Daigo Tsuwabuki) from Pokemon are staring endearingly at each other. May has her left hand resting upon Steven’s shoulder while Steven has his left hand placed upon his chest. May is wearing a red and white headband that is tied upon her light brown hair. Steven is wearing his trademark suit and has blue-silver hair. The characters are part of the Pokemon universe. Art by © Nikkaflora.

One last thing I’d like to mention is that I am working on Red Silver Hearts again. If you don’t know what Red Silver Hearts is, it’s an ongoing story I publish here on the Nikkaflora Blog. Red Silver Hearts is an adventure and romance where May from Pokemon travels with Steven Stone, and she works on becoming the best Pokemon trainer in the Hoenn region.

I will also post a link to the Red Silver Hearts page down below.

I’m writing this story because I have a couple of video games called Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire on the Nintendo DS. I’ve also played the original games on the Gameboy Advance. I’m in love with the storyline and the gameplay, so it inspired me to write my own fanfiction and lore.

As for my posting schedule, I’m trying to post a chapter of Red Silver Hearts every Wednesday. And I publish a new blog post and video for my usual content every weekend. But it’s probably going to be published every Friday.

I’ll always let you know on my social media platforms, especially Youtube and Instagram, whenever something new is posted. I’m looking forward to new content I’ll create for you guys!
